Minnesota summer nights are made to be spent outdoors. Join us for a volunteer community conversation on hunger relief Wednesday, August 16 from 5-7pm at Forgotten Star Brewing in Fridley. You can find us on the back patio!

Open to the entire community- current and future volunteers. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to this conversation. Kids and pups welcome. :)

Why is a community conversation on hunger relief relevant at this moment in time?

1.) Throughout COVID, we saw the incredible ways neighbors showed up for neighbors to get food on the table. We want to continue that momentum, co-creating a Twin Cities community in which no one is hungry. It takes all of us, including our partner nonprofits and our amazing volunteers.

2.) Volunteerism takes many forms. Spending 2 hours in our Volunteer Center or assisting with senior intake is vital to our work, but it's not the only partnership opportunity. You'll hear how you can engage in new spaces such as advocacy and public policy to help move the dial on hunger and create systemic change. It takes all of us!

3.) In Minnesota, we have plenty of food and generosity to go around. Yet, hunger is pervasive in Minnesota's communities of color. Together, we can take an active role in confronting and addressing the racial hunger divide. You'll learn more from our panel of guests on how you can take an active role through volunteerism.

What will the night look like?

Because we're all in this together, we've invited key community partners working in the Twin Cities hunger relief sphere to talk about their work and how we can engage with our neighbors in new (and old!) ways to fight hunger.

Starting at 5pm, we'll have games, networking, and an opportunity to chat with our community partners. From 6-6:45pm, our guest panelists will speak on hunger relief in the Twin Cities.

While this is a casual affair, we hope you'll mark your calendar to attend this important community conversation. Everyone is welcome to attend! Friends (human and furry!), family from kids on up, co-workers, neighbors and more are all invited.

Community Partner Panelists from:

How do I sign up?

We are asking that anyone who is able RSVP on the event page, however the event is open to the entire community regardless of if you RSVP or not!

What can I bring?
