In 2023, three volunteers gave a whopping 1,021 combined hours to our Volunteer Center and behind the scenes operations. We checked in with them to hear why they volunteer.

"While I do not handle or process food for Second Harvest [Heartland], I do enjoy the work I do. I work on keeping the donor database correct by updating the donor records as requested by the person I report to. Everyone is very helpful at Second Harvest when I have questions about my work assignment." - Jerome Elfert
"I've been volunteering with Second Harvest [Heartland] since 2019, helping out with data entry and other ongoing projects.
