Create a calm and welcoming experience at one of the evening’s key guest touchpoints.
As a Coat Check Volunteer at Dish, Second Harvest Heartland’s premier gala, you’ll be one of the first and last people guests interact with during the event. You’ll greet attendees warmly, securely store their belongings, and assist with item retrieval at the end of the night. For late-shift volunteers, you’ll also encourage donations in lieu of tips to further support our mission to end hunger.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys guest interaction in a quieter setting and values thoughtful service.
What You’ll Do:

- Securely store coats and personal belongings
- Assist with item retrieval at the end of the evening

- A chance to connect with fellow volunteers and community members
- Complimentary meal, beverages, and parking voucher (for The Depot ramp)
- Invitation to an optional pre-event overview session on Tuesday, September 29 from 10:00-11:30am

- Background Check: Complete a background check (SHH staff or existing volunteers may already meet this requirement).
- Physical readiness: Able to sit for extended periods
- Dress for the event: Wear cocktail attire and comfortable shoes
- Dependability: Arrive on time, stay flexible, and bring a positive attitude
